24 - 27 August 2017
Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair

The event with something for everyone…

Equestrian sport dominates the four days, competitors ranging from Olympic champions to local Pony Club children and everyone in between, and many different types of equestrian competition can be seen. If you are not especially horse-crazy though, fear not, there is still plenty to watch and lots of things to keep you entertained!

The Bruadar Country Fair…

The Bruadar Country Fair takes place on Saturday and Sunday, and showcases all sorts of countryside pursuits. Displays in the Bruadar Country Fair Arena in recent years have encompassed everything from traditional countryside pastimes such as falconry and gundog training to the more modern activity of quad bike stunt riding!

Superb shopping…

Over 200 trade stands offer something to suit every taste and every budget. Fine art, casual and country clothing, jewellery and vehicles are all available. A large food hall is full of delights – handmade chocolates, organic and rare breed meats, pastries and baked goods, fine wines… delicious! Equestrian shoppers too will be in their element, with tack, clothing, horseboxes, jumps, feed and bedding all on offer.

Perth Races - Autumn Race Day

Autumn Raceday

Summer may be over but the racing season isn't! It's our first autumn fixture and we want you to join us in celebrating the best of Scottish food and drink!

This is one of the last fixtures of our season and as we head into the home straight for 2017, some of the stars of the winter jumps scene will be in attendance.

Last year, Grand National-winning trainer Donald McCain was on the mark in this fixture but there was also Scottish and local success for Lanarkshire’s William Young and Glenfarg based Lucy Normille.

As well as a fantastic race card featuring six top-class jump races, we will be celebrating the best of Scottish food and drink – making this a must attend fixture for all foodies.

So come along for an afternoon of fun, food and drink – as we kick off autumn in true Scottish fashion!

Perth Races - Glorious Finale (Day 1)

Glorious Finale

It's day one of the oldest fixture at Perth - the Glorious Finale!

As we come to the end of another great season and the cooler weather is upon us, it's the chance for male and female race goers to scoop £1,000 for the best modern tweed outfit!

There are seven races in all for you to enjoy, with our gin bar open in the Grandstand enclosure for you to visit between races. Make sure you head to the Parade Ring before you place your bets to get a good look at the runners – the yards from the south of England dominated last year but who knows what will happen this time around!

So get your fancy tweeds on and enjoy a fantastic day of racing as we come to the end of another great season at Perth!

Perth Races - Glorious Finale (Day 2)

Glorious Finale

It's the final fixture of the season and we have a great day of racing lined up to say farewell to 2017!

The calibre of runners is always extremely high at this fixture and it’s a great chance to see some of the best horses and jockeys from across the UK & Ireland – you won’t want to miss it!

We will celebrate 2017 with some of the best highlights from the year, and your favourite food and drink regulars will be open for the final time in 2017. Get yourself to the betting ring to place your final bets of the season and end on a high! Last year, Moon Racer and Ballyandy fought out the finish in the third race on their debuts over hurdles, and the action will be just as exciting this time around.

Come along to the final day of racing in 2017 at Perth – where did the season go?

See you again in April!

Crieff - Christmas Lights switch on!

Welcome to Crieff at Christmas.

Crieff at Christmas is a group of local folk who have taken on the responsibility for the maintenance, erection and switching on of Crieff Christmas Light Display.

We hope to light up James Square, the High Street and Gallowhill.

All our members are unpaid volunteers who meet regularly throughout the year. Anyone is welcome to attend any of our public meetings or join our group. The minutes of our meetings are publicly available in the Strathearn Campus library.

We operate as a community group and work under the guidance of our written constitution, fundraising throughout the year. We have public liability insurance for all fundraising events.

We host a Christmas Party in James Square to switch on the lights and allow Santa Claus to meet the children of the town. This year’s switch on will take place on Saturday, 25th November 2017 and starts at 4:30pm.
